Puentes Malos 悪い橋
Anton Munar | Pol Wah Tse
Puentes Malos (Bad Bridges) is an exhibition of Anton Munar and Pol Wah Tse’s artworks, housed at the historic Keishun-In Temple in Kyoto, founded in 1598. This will be the artists’ first ever exhibition in Japan and first joint exhibition.
The title Puentes Malos comes from Munar and Tse's strong belief in following broken paths and allowing for the misunderstandings that take place through the making of art to be moments of mutation and growth. It will showcase new bodies of work and collaborative gestures made in Japan, comprising a dialogue with the architectural and historical surroundings of the temple. Most of all, it is a materialisation of a deep friendship between both artists and a shared commitment and passion for art in all its variants.

We are pleased to have this exhibition contribute to the ongoing restoration of the Kihakuan, a tea room on the temple grounds that was transported from Nagahama Castle in 1631. The practice of the tea ceremony was once banned in the temple in the name of asceticism and thus had to be used in secret.
